Where does their silliness come from?

Yep, I've got silly boys - and I just can't imagine where it comes from! Case in point: I'm sitting there rocking Nate to sleep one night last week, and I start getting pictures on my phone. Oh, the things that entertain in our household!

Passing the time on hot summer days

My big boy likes to go to Summer Waves. As. Much. As. Possible.


My little boy is just as happy staying home and making mud pies in the yard. He's not afraid of a little dirt!

Our most anticipated movie of the year - Toy Story 3!

So all I've been reading and hearing about for the past couple of days is the most anticipated movie of the summer - Eclipse. And while I can't say I've read the books or seen the movies (admittedly, that's on the summer reading list) I beg to differ on that claim.

The most anticipated movie of the year - not just the summer - for our household is TOY STORY 3! We have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this movie since we started watching trailers back in January. It couldn't get here fast enough for a certain 3 1/2 year old. We have been on the countdown. And I must say it was worth the wait!

We decided to take a trip to Jacksonville and watch it in a big theater (yeah, that's how important it was!). So with Will in a Woody shirt (orange, of course) and Nate in Buzz Lightyear shirt and with Buzz, Woody, and Bullseye in tow (we couldn't leave them out of the fun) we bought our tickets and a super large tub of popcorn and were ready to watch.

Both boys did great. We were thinking Nate would fall asleep but he actually watched a good bit of the movie and walked back and forth between me and Brian to get popcorn (wide aisles & stadium seating - the perks of a large theater). This theater had booster seats for the little ones so Will was at a perfect height and his eyes never left the screen.

Every day since we've seen the movie somehow our conversation turns to Toy Story 3 and I ask Will what his favorite part was. Each time he recalls a different scene from the movie. Nothing gets past him!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience for our first time in the movie theater. Our boys are growing up!

Roberson movie critics give Toy Story 3 five stars - the must see movie of the year!

What a week!

We spent last week with 40+ Haggerty's in the mountains of Tennessee. What a week! There was so much to do - Dixie Stampede, miniature golf, white water rafting, tubing, swimming, aquarium, and the list goes on. But my favorite times were when we were all together just hanging out - sitting around the dinner table or sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs. We rotated cabins (we had 3 of them) for dinner each evening. The conversations were priceless. I'm so glad my boys were able to be around everyone for such an extended period of time. They had a blast. Nate was pretty shy at the beginning of the week but by the end we couldn't calm him down. I love my family (and it's pretty impressive when you can say that after spending 7 days together!). We left saying this is going to become a semi-annual tradition. Haggerty's - I'm holding you to that!

Remembering when...

Last week was a week of celebration. Got to hold baby Nora Witherow and celebrate her birth, got to celebrate - sadly, from afar - the entrance of baby Jake Bearden into the world the very next day and then got to "shower" baby Ross and baby Claire as they continue to grow inside their mommy. All of these babies made me start remembering when my two were born. It's amazing to think how much I loved them then and how I love them more with every passing day.

Love being a mommy!

I am thankful for the two little people in my house that call me "mommy." I love them more and more every day. I wouldn't trade being their mommy for anything else in the world. Every day is mommy's day for me - but my guys made this one pretty special.

I had an ideal day: a run, church, a nap, the beach with friends, and lots of cuddles from my boys. And to top it off I got handprints on paper and lots of other sweet, crafty things from my boys that they've been working hard on. Will came home one day and told me, "Mommy's holiday is coming up. But it's a secret." He almost spilled the beans on Friday. He kept trying to tell me about something he made and Brian kept shushing him. Will finally got out, "All I was going to say is that Miss Tammy took my picture." I guess he just wanted to give me a little clue! And I got a bag, flip-flops and a dress from my hubby (that I actually won't be returning!). I couldn't have asked for a better day!

Somehow I didn't take the first picture this Mother's Day but thanks to our impromptu beach party on Jekyll Sunday afternoon I have proof of the fun. (Thanks, Whit!)

We have a 'sitiation'

Yes, we have a 'sitiation' - or 'situation,' if you will. The first situation being that it has literally been a whole year since posting - May 3, 2009. How sad is that? My last post was the boys in a bath so it is only fitting that I try to get back in the swing of things with another bath story. So here goes...

The boys got to spend some time with their Mimi and Pops last week in Albany while I was in Nashville. It was Saturday night and bath time. My parents have a huge tub so the boys think they are in a swimming pool when they're at their house. My mom had already taken Nate out of the tub and walked into their room when all of a sudden they hear, "Pops, pops...I have a 'sitiation.'" My mom and dad just looked at each other like - did he really just say that? So my dad goes back into the bathroom where Will proceeds to say again, "Pops, I've got a 'sitiation' in here, hurry." My dad asks him what's going on and, lo and behold, the soap has broken up into lots of tiny pieces and he can't seem to get them all rounded up. I mean, that's a 'sitiation' if I've ever heard one!

You just never know what's going to come out of that boy's mouth. We laugh at the words he's picking up on and laugh even harder when he actually uses them in the correct context. Nate's saying some words - you know the kind only a mommy and daddy can make out - but it won't be too long before he's telling us all about his 'sitiations', too!
