Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

We have had a GREAT Christmas! Opening presents, visiting with family...it has been a busy day. And since sickness in the Roberson household kept us in St. Simons (my first time not being in Albany in 30 years!) we decided it was time to start some of our own traditions. Yesterday we made a birthday cake for Baby Jesus -- which we decided could only be eaten on Christmas day. Will attended his first "big church" service last night at The Chapel. The highlight for him was seeing Santa at the front of the church (there's a man at our church who has a strong resemblance and just happened to be serving communion!). We had dessert with some good friends and then brought the boys home and got them dressed in their Christmas pajamas. We all got into Will's bed and Brian read the story of Baby Jesus. I had Will's nativity set and showed him all of the people his daddy was reading about. Tonight after supper we sang Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus as Will held the Baby Jesus from his nativity scene. After singing commenced Will proceeded to give Baby Jesus a big kiss. What a great reminder from a 2 year old about the true reason we celebrate Christmas!

You better watch out, Nate

Our little 2 year old has taken a liking to Christmas songs...which we love! Christmas music is playing around the clock these days in our household. Well, sweet Will has added a little word to one of the songs he's learned.

Oh, you better watch out, NATE. You better not cry. You better not pout, I'm tellin you why. Santa Claus is coming to town.

We've gotten little chuckle from this one.

On Will's Christmas list are two things: a backhoe and a garbage truck. Guess I'll never know what it's like to buy barbies and American Girl dolls. That's okay -- I'm good with all the boy toys!

Can't wait until Santa makes his arrival : )

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

I love this time of year, except for the cooler weather. But who can complain since we are hitting the 80 degree mark this week! We have been in full swing Christmas mode since right after Thanksgiving. Brian surprised us when we came home for Thanksgiving with a partially decorated house and lights hanging outside...not to mention a big blow-up Santa in our yard (yes, we are now those people!). Will has a new movie that he loves to watch - Boz, the bear - that is teaching him about the true meaning of Christmas and the significance of baby Jesus. He has a nativity set in his room and loves to point out baby Jesus to us. Surprisnigly enough, Will has no interest in messing with the ornaments on the tree or the presents underneath. Nate loves looking at the lights. It keeps him entertained for minutes : ) Will's favorite song right now is Jingle Bells - it has even surpassed Twinkle, Twinkle for the time being . Here is a sweet pic of the boys with Santa. I'll post some pictures later this week of the blow-up Santa. Yep, it's just what you are imagining.

The "Oh-No" Phenomenon

For anyone who knows my 2 year old well, you know what "Oh-No" is. For those of you not familiar, Oh-No is Will's blankie -- a staple we cannot live without in our household. Oh-No goes everywhere we go (or at least one of Oh-No's look-alikes -- we have three in circulation and one in reserves). Oh-No even made it in our photo shoot with Santa last month. Without Oh-No I do believe my little boy's world would crumble to pieces. Will has even dubbed a little giraffe blanket as Nate's Oh-No. Too cute! We got a little laugh the other day when Mrs. Robin told us that other kids at Will's daycare were starting to bring their Oh-No's to her house. Thus, the Oh-No phenomenon has begun.

Melt My Heart

Gotta love sweet little boys. Every morning before we part ways I say to Will, "I love you, bug." Well, this morning Will looks at me and says, "I love you, Mommy" and reaches out to give me a great big kiss. Ahhhh...melt my heart! He's said those words many times but always after being prompted. Today it was all him.

And not to leave out my little one, check out a smile that can also melt a heart!

What great reminders of how we melt the heart of our Heavenly Father every time we show him the depth of our love. I pray that my Heavenly Father --and our two boys -- always know how much we love them -- by our words and our actions.

Kisses Make It All Better

Since it's been an entire year since I had the good intentions of starting this blog -- and since we've added a new little guy to the family, Brian and I figured it was time to try again. All our friends are on the bandwagon, and we don't want to be left out! Besides we love talking about our boys : ) So here goes...

As our 2 year old becomes more and more active we've noticed there's a lot more "ouchies" and "boo-boos" we're having to deal with. Not a day goes by that we don't hear Sir W say "Mommy, my (fill in the blank) hurts." But the part that comes next just melts my heart. "Mommy, kiss it, make it all better." I find myself doing a lot of kissing, and that's a-okay with me. If only I could make everything "all better" for the rest of his life with just a simple kiss. I can dream, can't I?
