The Fam

We had our first "for real" family pics taken last week. It's hard to imagine life before our two boys. Brian and I went out for dinner (yes, an actual date!) New Year's day and were able to reflect on '08. What a blur! We started out the year expecting baby #2. I spent most of it pregnant...which is not a pleasant experience for me. But oh how grateful I am for the end result!
Nate is the perfect addition to our little family of four. He is already starting to develop his own little personality. And his smile is too cute for words! This "baby" stage is going by way too fast for me. He's already 4 months old...crazy! He loves to be held, probably a little too much. But I sure don't deny him. He's learned to be tough and to deal with lots of loud noise...both compliments of his big brother. But Nate will be the first to tell you that he has the best big brother in the whole world. Nate loves it when Will is in the room. He watches him so intently and just smiles away. Will really is so sweet with Nate. He loves to kiss him and hug him and taking a bath together has become Will's favorite time of the day.

Will has really grown up this past year. He was a late walker -- almost 17 months -- but once he got up and going he hasn't stopped since. He loves to go and we love going with him. The beach is one of his favorite places, which we are so happy about. One thing you will learn if you are around Will for any length of time is how much he loves to talk...and talk...and talk. His vocabulary never ceases to amaze us. We laugh at the fact that we can now carry on a full blown conversation with him...full sentences and all. And the things he remembers! We have to be careful what we say and what we promise. He holds us to it. And, unfortunately, the terrible two's do creep in from time to time. Thankfully it's not too often but when they emerge they emerge in full force. But then he moves on, and all he has to do is give us one of his belly laughs and the tantrum is forgotten. If we could bottle up his laugh and sell it we'd be millionaires!

We have had a full year. We thank God for the blessings of our two boys. We can't wait to see what He has in store for us in '09.

Here are a few more from our photo shoot:
